Family Letter December 2005

Meli Kaliki maka is not the thing to say, nor is sheng dan jie kuai le, Kiaora cuzzy bro's i'm coming home for a three week holiday of long cloud skies and steak and cheese pies, is the flavour of the month. I'm not kidding I need a fix of kiwi home made heaven and yes I want fries with that! This Christmas is going to be off the hook, we have so many things to organize and eat that I’ve decided to focus the majority of my power in one area, eating of course! Yep the instant Christmas attitude is especially merry this year and already my good brother Phil has informed me of a new satay shop that needs my immediate attention. Yes sir ree nothing warms the cockles like the return of the prodigal pie king.

Teaching my kindergarten students about Christmas has made me reflect on the many happy memories I had as a wee sprog. I can't thank my mum enough for giving me the festive spirit that has made each Christmas something to look forward to. I'm also eternally grateful to my savior for his infinite atonement in my life. It's hard to explain to people who wear lucky charms that all blessings come from God and the fiscal fisard that has replaced Christ with X amount of dollars (i.e. Xmas) is a corporate take-over . So I’ve decided to build on the common belief that has inspired millions to burn golden money and play spiritual lotto with pick up sticks and wooden bananas "MONEY". After all you can buy anything in this day and age for money.

I was trying to think of a new year’s resolution Fiona's is all about bringing balance to the force, and with the increasing stress brought on by the eminent countdown, I think my patience has turned to the dark side. Honestly it’s hard enough bringing balance to the diet let alone the force. I can see it now, eat me Luke I am your big Mac.

Any who a big holler out to all our whanau and friends, hope you enjoy the photos and wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
